Composition
Rose Noir is Byredo's 2008 dark rose inspired by Parisian romance and the enigmatic Black Swan. Cardamom, freesia, grapefruit and red berries open into Damask rose, jasmine, violet and raspberry, over moss, musk, patchouli and labdanum. Earthy, mysterious and glamorous — a noir-tinged rose for the modern romantic.
This smells like Paris after midnight — beautiful, a little dangerous, completely awake. Cardamom, grapefruit and red berries snap over the opening like city lights, freesia adding a green flicker, and then the Damask rose blooms: dark, velvety, noir to the core. Jasmine, violet and raspberry sweeten the shadows, while moss, patchouli, musk and labdanum ground it in earth and glamour. It's the Black Swan of roses — mysterious, earthy, and dressed for the evening. A dark rose even romantics can love. Beginner-friendly.
