Composition
Quercus is Penhaligon's 1996 citrus-chypre inspired by the mighty English oak. Amalfi lemon, lime, bergamot and mandarin open into lily-of-the-valley, jasmine and cardamom, over oakmoss, musk, galbanum, sandalwood and amber. Clean, green and timeless — a refined unisex cologne.
To me this smells like an English garden after rain — Amalfi lemon, lime, bergamot and mandarin so clean they squeak, lily-of-the-valley and jasmine fresh as wet petals, cardamom adding a quiet spice. Oakmoss, galbanum, musk, sandalwood and amber ground it like old stone and deep roots. Inspired by the mighty oak, and it has that same quiet strength — clean, green, timeless. The refined cologne that never goes out of style. A citrus-chypre from 1996 that still outclasses most modern freshies — oak-strong and timeless. Beginner-friendly.
