Composition
Elisabethan Rose is Penhaligon's 2018 British Tales rose — the famous Tudor rose, flower of England. Hazelnut leaf, almond oil and cinnamon open into red lily, rose centifolia and rose absolute, over vetiver, musk and wood. Airy, dewy and elegant — a harmonious union of rose, hazelnut leaf and vetiver.
This smells like the Tudor rose would if you could bottle a dewy morning. Hazelnut leaf and almond oil open green and nutty, cinnamon adding the faintest warm breath, and then the roses arrive — centifolia and absolute, red and lush and completely unhurried. Red lily lifts the heart like a flag, while vetiver, musk and wood keep it airy and grounded at once. It's the flower of England rendered in perfume: elegant, dewy, and quietly proud. A rose for people who think they don't like rose. Beginner-friendly.
