Composition
A 2005 fragrance inspired by Florence's Ponte Vecchio bridge. Bergamot, incense and mandarin open into iris, geranium and precious woods, over vetiver, sandalwood, patchouli, musk and amber. Elegant, powdery and Italian.
To me this smells like stepping into a centuries-old Florentine church just as the morning cleaning is done. Bergamot and mandarin peel brighten the air first, then the real character arrives — incense smoke still clinging to cold stone, Brazilian rosewood pews polished by a thousand hands, cedar and vetiver rising like dust in a shaft of light. It softens into powdery iris and jasmine, like silk scarves laid out on a chapel altar. Sacred and slightly stern, the way old Italian stone holds both prayer and perfume.
