Composition
Musc 25 is Le Labo's 2008 Los Angeles city exclusive by Frank Voelkl — white, angelic and intensely luminous. Aldehydes and musk open into lily-of-the-valley and rose, over ambergris, patchouli, cedar and vetiver with a dark animalic core. Heavenly white over devilish depths — for genderless angels.
To me this smells like fresh snow on white linen — the Los Angeles city exclusive, and it has that city's strange, luminous cleanliness. Aldehydes open cold and sparkling, like air after rain, and the musk underneath is white and angelic, the softest animalic whisper. Lily-of-the-valley and rose drift through like a memory of a garden glimpsed from a car window. Ambergris, patchouli, cedar, and vetiver in the base keep it from being simple — there is real depth under the light. It is intensely luminous, the way morning light through a white curtain is. A musk for people who want to smell like clean skin, only better. Beginner-friendly.
