Composition
Mr. Burberry Eau de Parfum was launched in 2017 as a richer version of the 2016 original, created by Francis Kurkdjian. A spicy opening of cardamom, mint and grapefruit leads to a lavender and cedar heart over patchouli, cinnamon, amber and benzoin. It retains the signature dark trench-buckle cap of the line.
This is London in November, translated for an Indian winter. Cardamom and mint and grapefruit cut through the fog first — sharp, bracing, a little green from the tarragon — and then lavender and nutmeg warm it up, like a heavy coat buttoned to the throat. I picture a man in a trench coat walking fast through rain, not minding it. Underneath is the real weight: patchouli, cinnamon, amber, benzoin, vetiver and sandalwood, all dark and resinous and lingering on wool. It's richer and deeper than the original, built for evenings. Polished, masculine, and completely unthreatening once you know it's there. Beginner-friendly.
