Composition
OakmossStar noteCrystal MossClearwoodMousse de Chene 30 is Le Labo's Amsterdam city-exclusive eau de parfum, launched in 2017 and composed by Daphné Bugey. A modern neo-chypre, it pairs oakmoss and patchouli with synthetic boosters crystal moss and clearwood, spiced with cinnamon, pimento bay and pink pepper. Traditional in structure, progressive in execution.
This is moss worn like a statement: damp, green oakmoss and earthy patchouli up front, electrified by pink pepper and a warm cinnamon-pimento spice. It smells like walking through a forest after rain in a tailored coat — dark, elegant, a little wild. As it settles, the woods turn smooth and almost creamy. In India it shines in winter and monsoon; peak summer heat can make it feel heavy. Not a beginner's blind buy — mossy chypres are an acquired taste — but a rewarding one.
