Composition
A 2010 Les Échappées oriental-spicy EDP named after Manoa, the legendary Incan 'city of gold'. Warm resins, vanilla and opoponax over a sparkling citrus-ginger opening; by Alienor Massenet.
Manoa starts bright — bergamot, lemon and a snap of ginger, like sunlight on gold. Then the resins roll in: opoponax with its strange, skin-warm sweetness, vanilla, labdanum, tonka and a cool thread of cypress and iris keeping it elegant. It's often compared to Shalimar's family, but leaner and more modern, less powdery. In Indian winter evenings this glows; in May heat it would be too much. Beginners should sample first — the opoponax is distinctive.
