Composition
Named for the fertile Kedu plain on the Indonesian island of Java, from the Graines Vagabondes collection. Grapefruit, mandarin, bergamot, orange, tea and ginger open into an aromatic accord with sesame absolute, over cedarwood, musk and moss.
To me this is a morning in Java. Grapefruit, mandarin, bergamot and orange burst juicy, then tea and ginger steam through, the ginger giving the citrus a warm root-spice hum like fresh ginger tea with lime, with sesame adding a strange, nutty warmth underneath. Cedarwood, musk and moss in the base keep it green and calm, the moss smelling like the shaded side of the plantation, cool and green. Named for the fertile Kedu plain, it smells like growth: citrus groves, tea fields, damp earth. Fresh, unusual in the best way, and utterly easy to love. Beginner-friendly.
