Composition
A 2017 incense composition inspired by mandalas. Olibanum, angelica and nutmeg open into incense, cardamom, labdanum, cedar, cloves and cinnamon, over myrrh, ambergris, sandalwood and oakmoss. Meditative and richly resinous.
To me this smells like the inside of a Tibetan monastery shop in McLeodganj, where every surface is wood and every corner is burning something. Olibanum and myrrh smoke rises in slow spirals; cloves and cinnamon crackle like a spice box tipped into a fire. Cardamom pods split open, green and camphorous. It builds and builds — labdanum, ambergris, sandalwood — layer upon layer of resin, until the air itself feels thick enough to touch. There's no sweetness to hide behind here, no fruit, no flowers. Just smoke, spice, and centuries. It smells like prayer made physical. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
