Composition
A 2012 Les Échappées EDP by Alienor Massenet, an 'oasis of roses and fruit' inspired by ancient Egypt's Luxor. Fruity rose over oud, patchouli and labdanum; sold online and at Memo's Paris boutique.
Luxor Oud opens with mandarin and orange oil plus a jammy raspberry note — immediately lush, almost edible. The heart is pure desert rose, velvety and dark, with cypriol adding a smoky edge. Then the oud arrives, smooth rather than barnyardy, wrapped in patchouli, styrax resin and labdanum. It wears like a royal procession: rich, warm, unhurried. For India, this is wedding-season and winter-night territory, not office wear. Not for beginners — the oud and fruit combo is bold.
