Composition
Inflorescence is Byredo's 2013 spring floral by Ben Gorham, celebrating the awakening of nature. Pink freesia and rose open into lily-of-the-valley and magnolia, resting on a base of fresh jasmine. Intoxicating, honeyed and fresh — an arcadian stroll through untamed bowers of full-blown roses.
To me this smells like the exact week spring decides to happen — pink freesia and rose bursting open all at once, lily-of-the-valley ringing somewhere underneath, magnolia creamy and huge above it all. Jasmine carries the base like a long exhale. It is intoxicating and honeyed and completely fresh, an arcadian stroll through bowers of full-blown roses. Ben Gorham bottled the season's best week and, frankly, nailed it. Pink freesia leads with a peppery-sweet sparkle that feels electric. Magnolia looms creamy and huge above the smaller blossoms.
