Composition
Ilha do Mel means Honey Island — a Graines Vagabondes tribute to the Brazilian island, by Alienor Massenet. Hyacinth, mandarin orange and juniper open into a floral heart of honey, jasmine, orange blossom, broom and iris, over creamy vanilla.
To me this smells like Honey Island itself — the Brazilian island this was named for, all flowers and sea air. Hyacinth and mandarin open bright and green, juniper adding a gin-clear sparkle. Then the honey arrives, and it changes everything: honey and jasmine, honey and orange blossom, broom and iris powdery around the edges — a whole island of flowers dripping with it. Creamy vanilla settles underneath like sand warmed by the sun. It is a Graines Vagabondes daydream: wild, floral, golden. The kind of perfume that makes winter feel like a personal insult.
