Composition
Freetrapper is a masculine eau de parfum from D.S. & Durga, launched in 2011 and dedicated to the renegade mountaineers of the Jacksonian era. Distilled incense, bergamot and bitter orange open into dark cedar, snakeroot and osmanthus. Amberwood, sandalwood and castoreum form the deep, woody base.
To me this smells like a mountain man's cabin — distilled incense first, thick as woodsmoke in a stone chimney, bergamot and bitter orange flashing like a struck match. Dark cedar and snakeroot, osmanthus sweet and leathery as old fruit, and then the base: amberwood, sandalwood, castoreum — animalic, warm, feral as a fur pelt by the fire. Dedicated to the renegade mountaineers, and it smells like them: smoky, woody, untamed. Not a scent — a survival story. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
