Cowboy Grass is a masculine eau de parfum from D.S. & Durga, launched in 2008 as one of the house's debut scents. Wild thyme, bergamot and rosewood open into sagebrush, basil, clary sage and rose otto, drying down to grass, vetiver, benzoin and ambergris. It evokes windswept prairies and the wild Western territories.
To me this smells like the American West as imagined from a train window — wild thyme and bergamot sharp as high-desert air, rosewood smooth underneath, and then sagebrush, basil and clary sage rolling like tumbleweeds, rose otto an unexpected softness in the dust. Grass, vetiver, benzoin and ambergris dry it down: sun-baked earth, dry wind, distance. Windswept prairies in a bottle — green, herbal, free. It smells like nowhere you've been and everywhere you want to go. One of D.S. & Durga's debut scents, and still their most free — no city in it at all. Beginner-friendly.
