To me this smells like the man your mother warned you about, and she was right. Lavender and lemon open almost innocent — a barbershop, clean and bright — until the cumin hits, sweaty and carnal, and the innocence is gone. Violet, jasmine and lily-of-the-valley try to keep it civilized. They fail. The base is pure animal: castoreum and leather, oakmoss and patchouli, ambergris salty as skin, cloves and vetiver and cedar and galbanum building a dark green forest floor. Rich, leathery, and genuinely dangerous. The name is not marketing. It is a warning label. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
