Composition
The fifth fragrance of the Prada Candy collection, launched in spring 2017 by Daniela Andrier. Candy Gloss is a Floral Fruity Gourmand built on sweet-and-sour contrast: sour cherry and cassis open bright, peach, rose and orange blossom form the heart, and vanilla, almond, benzoin, heliotrope and musk settle into a gourmand base. It comes in the pink-and-gold Candy bottle, as EDT.
To me this smells like a candy shop that grew up and got a pink-and-gold makeover. Sour cherry and cassis open with a sweet-and-sour pop — fizzy, bright, a little mischievous — over peach, rose and orange blossom that keep it floral and fresh rather than purely sugary. It's the contrast that makes it work: tart against sweet, like the best candy. Vanilla, almond, benzoin, heliotrope and musk melt the base into something creamy and powdery, like the smell of a wrapper kept in a drawer for years. Playful, gourmand, and dangerously easy to love. Beginner-friendly.
