Composition
Baie 19 is Le Labo's 2019 petrichor perfume — the scent of rain on dry earth. Dry juniper berry, green leaves and patchouli are soaked by a luminous rain of ozonic notes, ambroxan and musk. Crisp, wet and drenched — should have been called Water 19.
To me this smells like rain on dry earth — petrichor, bottled. Dry juniper berry and green leaves crackle at the opening, and then a luminous rain of ozonic notes, ambroxan and musk soaks everything through, cool and mineral. The patchouli in the heart adds an earthy depth, like wet soil under the rainfall. Crisp, wet, alive — it is the smell of a storm arriving, and of the deep relief that comes with it. It smells less like a perfume and more like weather — the kind you stand outside in on purpose. Beginner-friendly.
