Amazone is a feminine eau de toilette from Hermès, launched in 1974. It opens with Galbanum, Cassia, Neroli, Brazilian Rosewood, Mandarin Orange, Bergamot and Violet Leaf. The heart reveals Narcissus, Hiacynth, Black Currant, Rose, Iris, Orris Root, Jasmine, Raspberry and Lily-Of-The-Valley settling into a base of Oakmoss, Vetiver, Neroli, Cedar, Sandalwood, Cinnamon, Ylang-Ylang and Amber. Its character is defined by Green, Woody and Aromatic accords.
Scent story
To me this smells like a rainforest clearing after a storm — galbanum green and wild in the first breath, cassia dark and spicy like bark split open. Neroli and citrus sparkle through the green, black currant darkening the edges like jungle fruit. The florals are lush and untamed — narcissus, jasmine, rose, ylang — and underneath, oakmoss and vetiver hold it to the forest floor. It is green, fierce, and magnificent — nature with no apologies. Cinnamon's warm spice glints through the green, like sun through canopy. Beginner-friendly.
