Composition
A Hermessence exclusive from 2004, Jean-Claude Ellena's Ambre Narguilé recreates the memory of the Orient — hookah lounges where tobacco, fruit, honey and spices drift in sweet smoke. Cinnamon and honey open into a rum-caramel heart over vanilla, benzoin, tonka and tobacco.
To me this smells like a hookah lounge in a dream — cinnamon and honey warm and golden, sweet as remembered evenings. Rum and caramel melt through the heart, rich and decadent, white orchid floating over. Vanilla, benzoin, tonka and tobacco settle underneath, sweet smoke over smooth resin. It is the Orient as a memory, soft and glowing. Beginner-friendly — a sweet, smooth amber-tobacco for dreamers.
