Composition
Aldehyde 44 is Le Labo's Dallas city-exclusive eau de parfum, launched in 2006 and composed by Yann Vasnier. Described by the house as a hardcore aldehyde with a clean white-floral result, it layers aldehydes over tuberose, narcissus and jasmine sambac on a musky, lightly vanilla-wood base. Abstract and polished, closer to a crisp white shirt than a sweet floral.
A cool, sparkling aldehydic opening — clean laundry aired on a line, waxy and bright — melts into an abstract bouquet of white flowers that never quite resolves into any single bloom. Underneath, refined musk and a whisper of vanilla keep it soft rather than soapy-harsh. It wears like polished minimalism: elegant, a little distant, unmistakably niche. Beginners who love fresh-clean scents will get it instantly; those expecting a cozy vanilla or a loud tuberose may find it too restrained.
