Composition
An oriental-woody eau de parfum from Paris Corner's Emir Voux line. Oud with fruity and oriental notes opens the scent, floral notes and ambergris form the heart, and woody notes with olibanum and labdanum settle the base.
To me this smells like a bonfire built from rare timber in the deep desert — oud in the first breath, dark and resinous and unmistakably animal, fruit notes glinting around it like sparks. Ambergris and floral notes drift through the smoke, strange and ghostly, and then olibanum and labdanum take it deeper — church resin, ancient varnish, wood that has been burning for hours. This is oud with no apology and no handrail. It will clear a room or conquer it; there is no middle. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
