Composition
Released in 2013, inspired by the Argentine tango. Bergamot, black pepper and cardamom open into jasmine, Damask rose, cumin and patchouli, over benzoin, vanilla, tonka, amber and musk. Passionate, spicy and ambery.
To me this smells like a milonga in Buenos Aires at 2am — the air thick with black pepper and cardamom, sweat, and the resinous sweetness of benzoin from a hundred candles. The cumin is the dangerous part: human, musky, almost animal, rising out of the damask rose like a truth nobody says out loud. Jasmine coils through it, white and narcotic, while patchouli and amber darken everything to the color of old wood floors. Vanilla and tonka smooth the edges, but they can't tame it — they can only make the wildness easier to dance with. Passion, bottled without apology. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
