Composition
A fresh green and fruity gourmand, by Pierre Montale: peach, black currant, mandarin orange and bergamot open into dark chocolate, rose and violet, over vanilla, white musk and cedar.
To me this smells like Valentine's Day done right — peach and black currant, juicy and glistening, mandarin and bergamot fizzing like champagne over a box of dark chocolate. Not milk chocolate: the real dark stuff, bitter and intense, the kind that stains your fingers. Rose blooms through the chocolate, dark red and romantic, violet adding a powdery purple softness. It melts into vanilla and white musk, cedar underneath keeping it from becoming pure dessert. Gourmand, rosy, indulgent. The perfume equivalent of being fed chocolate-covered strawberries. Zero resistance possible. Beginner-friendly.
