Composition
Roaring Radcliff is a 2016 Eau de Parfum for men from Penhaligon's Portraits collection, composed by Daphné Bugey. It is an aromatic-spicy fragrance built on rum, tobacco and a gingerbread-like sweetness — bergamot, tarragon and rum up top; ginger, rose and tobacco at the heart; amberwood, beeswax, cinnamon, honey, leather and tonka bean in the base.
Christmas cake and a good cigar in a leather armchair: rum-soaked, honeyed, smoky. Roaring Radcliff opens with a boozy, herbal sparkle, turns into smoky-sweet tobacco with a gingerbread warmth, and settles into a honeyed, leathery amber that lasts for hours. It's festive, hedonistic, and made for cold-weather evenings — Indian winters bring out its best. Not for beginners: between the tobacco, rum and honey this is a loud, confident scent that announces you before you speak.
