Composition
A 2015 Zara classic, beloved for its sophisticated fruity warmth. Juicy black currant and pear sparkle at the top, softening into powdery iris over a sensual base of vanilla, praline, patchouli and tonka bean. Don't let the name fool you: it is far more a dark fruity-gourmand than a plain vanilla.
To me this smells like a fruit chaat cart in May, blackcurrant and pear chopped over ice with masala dusted on top. Then iris drifts — gentle but impossible to ignore, right on cue. There is a thread of iris running under everything, like silk catching light. The base of vanilla, praline, patchouli and tonka bean arrives last, steady as a heartbeat, and refuses to leave. This is what golden hour, every hour would smell like if it had a perfume. Beginner-friendly — an easy first step into this style.
