Composition
Prada Candy L'Eau is an oriental vanilla fragrance for women launched in April 2013 by perfumer Daniela Andrier, a lighter adaptation of the 2011 Candy. It opens with sparkling fresh Italian citruses, followed by a floral heart of sweet pea. The base is warm and gourmand, composed of caramel, benzoin and white musk. It was released as 50 and 80 ml Eau de Toilette.
To me this smells like stepping into a Parisian confiserie at opening time, before the crowds arrive. Sparkling Italian citrus hits first — bright, almost fizzy — and then the whole thing melts into sweet pea softness and warm, buttery caramel wrapped in benzoin and white musk. It is lighter than the original Candy, like Candy took off its coat and decided to dance. Sweet, yes, but the citrus and musk keep it from ever becoming cloying — it floats instead of sinking.
