Composition
Outrageous! is a unisex eau de toilette from Frederic Malle, launched in 2007. It opens with Green Apple, Lime, Grapefruit, Mint and Cinnamon. The heart reveals Neroli and Orange Blossom settling into a base of Musk, Aldehydes, Cedar and Amber. Its character is defined by Citrus, White Floral and Green accords.
To me this smells like a citrus grove during a hailstorm — violent, sparkling, wonderful. Green apple and lime and grapefruit, all voltage; mint cold as ice; aldehydes fizzing like champagne. It doesn't ease you in. It grabs you by the collar. Neroli and orange blossom bloom through the storm, white and defiant; cinnamon adds a strange warm crackle, like a spice market in the next valley. Musk and cedar and amber underneath, like the earth after rain. It's outrageous, as promised — fresh turned up until it becomes drama. Beginner-friendly.
