Composition
My Burberry Festive is a 2015 limited edition Eau de Parfum from Burberry, released ahead of the holiday season and signed by perfumer Francis Kurkdjian. It repeats the popular floral composition of the 2014 My Burberry, distinguished by golden glitter suspended in the juice and a light-gold ribbon on the bottle. Sweet pea, bergamot and geranium lead into a heart of freesia and golden quince, with patchouli and Damask and Centifolia roses in the base.
This is a Christmas market in a hill station — I know Burberry is British, but I can't help it. Sweet pea and bergamot sparkle like fairy lights, freesia and quince crisp and joyful in the cold air, and then the roses arrive: damask and deep red, petals scattered over snow. It smells like a celebration you were actually invited to. Patchouli in the base keeps it from floating away, grounding the flowers in something earthy and real. Festive, generous, and impossible to dislike. Wear it to every December wedding on your calendar. Beginner-friendly.
