Composition
Lipstick Rose is a women's eau de parfum launched by Frederic Malle in 2000, composed by Ralf Schwieger. A powdery floral evoking a star's private moment at her dressing table: grapefruit and violet sparkle over a sweet rose-iris-raspberry heart on a sensuous bed of vanilla and white musk. Glamorous, retro and softly feminine.
Tart raspberry and bright grapefruit fizz at the opening, then the powder room unfolds — violet and iris like face powder, rose like a freshly opened lipstick, sweet and waxy and nostalgic. The drydown is vanilla and white musk, soft as a cashmere stole. It smells like old Bollywood glamour: dressing tables, warm lights, confidence. Beginners who love sweet powdery roses will adore it; those who dislike powder or retro sweetness should sample first, as it is unapologetically feminine.
