Composition
The 2016 EDP intensification of Guerlain's masculine pillar, by Thierry Wasser and Delphine Jelk, reinvents the almond note three ways — spiced almond and bergamot up top, a vanilla-tincture, incense and Bulgarian rose heart, over leather, tonka and sandalwood.
To me this smells like the ideal, reinvented — spiced almond and bergamot bright and intriguing. Cherry, vanilla, incense and Bulgarian rose make the heart warm and luxurious, fruit over flowers over smoke. Leather, tonka and sandalwood ground it, smooth and rich. Almond three ways, and every way works. Beginner-friendly — a warm, smooth almond-oriental for evenings.
