Composition
Jacques Guerlain's 1912 'blue hour' is a velvety ode to Parisian dusk — anise and bergamot melting into a powdery heart of violet, iris, carnation and rose over vanilla, benzoin and tonka, in the iconic inverted-heart bottle.
To me this smells like Paris at dusk — anise and bergamot melting soft and golden. Violet, iris, carnation and rose make the heart powdery and velvety, petals in blue light. Vanilla, benzoin and tonka warm the base, sweet and smooth. A velvety ode to the blue hour. Beginner-friendly — a powdery, romantic floral for dreamy evenings.
