Composition
A 2015 Cuirs Nomades EDP — 'an extraordinary stopover that gives Irish Leather an ambery touch of oud'. Juniper, green mate and leather with pink pepper, iris and oud; a nod to co-founder John Molloy's Irish roots.
Irish Oud smells like a windswept Irish moor crossed with a Middle Eastern majlis. Pink pepper and juniper berry crackle at the start, fresh and green, with green mate adding a tea-like bitterness. Then iris and clary sage smooth things out before the base arrives: leather, oud, birch, tonka and amber — dark, smoky, enveloping. It's greener and fresher than most ouds, which makes it more wearable in India than the typical oud bomb. Still, this is a statement scent, not a beginner's first niche buy.
