Composition
A leather-floral eau de parfum from Paris Corner's Emir Identity series. Geranium, black currant and Sichuan pepper open lively, a heart of rose and leather follows, and vetiver with cedarwood grounds the base.
To me this smells like a rose garden behind a saddlery. On one side, Damask roses going over-ripe in the heat, their petals dark and almost jammy, with black currant tartness and Sichuan pepper buzzing on the tongue like an electric shock. On the other side — leather. Real, tanned, oiled leather, hanging in strips. The two sides never quite blend; they argue beautifully all day. Geranium bridges them, green and rosy at once, while vetiver and cedar hold the ground like packed earth. It's a love story between a flower and a hide, and neither one is giving in.
