Composition
Changing Constance is a 2018 Eau de Parfum for women from Penhaligon's Portraits collection, described as a scent for the modern woman. It opens with cool cardamom and hot pimento, moves into a salted caramel heart, and settles on vanilla, tobacco and cashmeran. A separate Changing Constance Eau de Parfum Intense flanker launched in 2026 and is a different composition.
Crush a elaichi and a few cloves over a bowl of salted caramel, then stir in a spoon of vanilla and a wisp of pipe tobacco. That's Changing Constance: spicy-gourmand at first, then warm, buttery, and dangerously edible. It's like mithai made for adults — sweet but with spice keeping it from turning childish. Lovely for Indian festive evenings and winter weddings. Beginners who love sweet scents will find this an easy entry point, but go light — it's rich and fills a room.
