Composition
Rich and luminous, evocative of a journey to the heart of Indonesia. Blue matcha, black currant and citrus open over cedarwood, leather, tobacco leaves and patchouli, with maté, grey amber and powdery musk in the base.
To me this smells like a Tokyo kissaten that only regulars know — matcha whisked bitter and green, black currant dark and juicy alongside it, lemon and Sicilian mandarin flashing bright. It's weird and wonderful for about ten seconds. Then it turns: leather, dark and polished; cedar dry as a pencil; tobacco leaf; patchouli earth. Mate tea keeps the green going, powdery notes soften it, musk and ambergris smooth the landing — but the leather-tobacco-matcha combination never stops being strange. It's fascinating, like a film you can't look away from. But fascinating is not the same as easy. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
