Composition
Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune is a feminine eau de toilette from Guerlain, launched in 1999. It opens with Grapefruit and Bergamot. The heart reveals Cassia, Petitgrain and Neroli settling into a base of Patchouli and Vanilla. Its character is defined by Citrus, Aromatic and Fresh Spicy accords.
To me this is breakfast on a terrace in Provence — grapefruit and bergamot bright as a squeezed juice, then cassia and petitgrain and neroli, green and bitter-orange, like the grove itself. The base is patchouli and vanilla, earthy and sweet, the soil under the trees. It is Guerlain's grapefruit done with a wink — fresh, green, and a little wild. Sunshine with roots. Petitgrain adds a green bitter-orange snap to the grapefruit. Neroli hums bitter-orange bright beneath the grapefruit. Beginner-friendly.
