Composition
Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilic is a feminine eau de toilette from Guerlain, launched in 2007. It opens with Clementine, Bitter Orange, Orange Blossom, Green Tea and Ivy. The heart reveals Mandarin Orange, Basil, Chamomile and Peony settling into a base of Sandalwood and Amber. Its character is defined by Citrus, Fresh Spicy and Green accords.
To me this smells like a Mediterranean kitchen garden at noon — clementine and bitter orange heavy on the branch, orange blossom sweet in the heat, green tea steaming in a glass on the table. Ivy climbs the wall, mandarin bright as the tiles, basil crushed underfoot releasing that green peppery snap. Chamomile and peony soften it floral, sandalwood and amber warm the base like sun-baked stone. Fresh, green, and alive — a deep breath of summer. The basil stays green and peppery for hours, like the garden never quite lets you leave. Beginner-friendly.
