Scent story

This smells like a desert palace at night. Saffron burns gold and bitter up top, artemisia smells of dry desert herbs, and then the incense rolls in — thick, resinous, ancient — with agarwood oud rising underneath like something buried and powerful. Amber, sandalwood and cedar glow through the smoke; white rose and jasmine drift like ghosts. It is magnificent and merciless. The oud does not ask permission. The geranium adds a green, rosy lift through the smoke — like flowers growing at the edge of a fire. It is the desert at its most beautiful and most dangerous. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
