Composition
Burberry Weekend for Men was launched in 1997, created by Michel Almairac. A bright citrus opening of lemon, grapefruit, bergamot and pineapple leads to a green heart of ivy, oakmoss and sandalwood, drying down to honey, musk and amber. True to its name, it is a casual, easygoing scent meant for time off.
To me this smells like a Saturday morning with nowhere to be — windows open, sun coming in sideways. Lemon, grapefruit and pineapple fizz at the opening like a cold drink with too much ice, bright and uncomplicated. Then it turns green and lazy: ivy climbing a garden wall, oakmoss damp in the shade, sandalwood warm underneath like a wooden deck in the sun. The honey drydown is the best part — golden and easy, settling into musk and amber like a nap you did not plan but absolutely needed. It asks nothing of you. No occasion, no statement, just the honest pleasure of a day off, bottled. Beginner-friendly.
