Composition
Viola is a fruity-floral eau de parfum for women, launched in 2016. It opens with black currant and bergamot, develops jasmine, rose and lily of the valley in the heart, and settles into cedarwood, patchouli and vanilla.
To me this smells like the first violin in an orchestra tuning up — black currant sharp and bright as the A string, bergamot sparkling like rosin dust in the stage lights. It's the overture, and it's perfect. Jasmine, rose and lily of the valley bloom in the heart, classic and harmonious, each flower hitting its note. Cedarwood, patchouli and vanilla warm the base like the wooden body of the instrument, resonating long after the bow lifts. Ajmal's quiet masterpiece — proof that you don't need oud to make magic.
