Composition
Yellow Jeans (1996) by Nathalie Feisthauer, the feminine counterpart in Versace's Jeans collection, in the signature can designed by Gianni Versace. A floral-green composition: bergamot, violet, peach and mandarin open sweet and fresh, leading to a heart of tea, heliotrope and rose, over a soft base of cedar, musk, sandalwood and vanilla.
To me this smells like a 1996 summer afternoon in Milan. Bergamot and mandarin open bright and fizzy — citrus soda in a tall glass — with peach adding juicy sweetness and violet a powdery, retro softness. Tea and heliotrope give it a dreamy, almond-vanilla haze, like sunscreen and old photographs. The cedar-musk-sandalwood base is soft and warm, vanilla rounding everything into comfort. It is pure 90s joy in the signature Versace can — playful, sunny, and completely unbothered. Beginner-friendly.
