Composition
Symphonium, from Xerjoff's XJ 17/17 Stone Label collection, is a chocolate-oud parfum. It opens with Spanish mandarin and orange, reveals Indian cardamom and Belgian chocolate in the heart, and settles into musk, Madagascar vanilla, Laotian oud and Thai oud.
To me this smells like a chocolate atelier built inside an oud merchant's warehouse. Spanish mandarin and orange open bright and juicy, then the Belgian chocolate arrives — dark, rich, genuinely indulgent — melting over everything. Cardamom spices the air like the chocolatier's secret, and underneath, the oud: Laotian and Thai, deep and resinous, turning the sweetness shadowy and complex. Madagascar vanilla and musk settle it, warm as the workshop at closing time. A gourmand with a dark past — sweet enough to crave, deep enough to respect. Beginner-friendly.
