Composition
Stairway to Heaven (2019) by Cécile Zarokian is an amber floral extrait, the 6th chapter of Les Classiques, inspired by Annapurna Base Camp in the Himalaya. Aldehydes, bergamot and sweet orange open it; heliotrope, red berries, orris and Bulgarian rose form the heart; white musk, vanilla, gunpowder, ambroxan, cashmeran, incense and patchouli ground the base.
Stairway to Heaven is altitude in scent: fizzy aldehydic citrus over powdery heliotrope and berries, settling into a luminous mantle of white musks with gunpowder smoke and vanilla warmth. Elusive, synthetic-beautiful, utterly unisex. Beginners: strange at first sniff, addictive by the third wear; give it time.
