Composition
Davidoff's 2005 Eau de Toilette for men by Calice Becker, an oriental-woody composition that opens with bitter orange and coriander, moves through a saffron, clove and patchouli heart, and settles into benzoin, amber, cinnamon and oakmoss.
Bitter orange and coriander spark the opening — zesty but immediately darkened by cedar. The heart is the star: hot saffron and clove over patchouli, mysterious and almost smoky, like incense drifting through a spice market. The dry-down is all warm resin and amber with benzoin sweetness, cinnamon warmth and a mossy, masculine depth. Built for Indian winter nights and formal evenings; far too heavy for daytime heat. A connoisseur's pick rather than a beginner's — old-school, bold, and unapologetically spicy.
