Composition
Silvanus (2019) is a woody-spicy extrait composed by Marco Genovese, named for the Roman god of forests. Saffron, oud and clove open it; sandalwood, cedar and lily of the valley form the heart; ambergris and white musk close it.
Silvanus walks into a Roman pine forest: saffron and oud crackle like dry needles underfoot, sandalwood and cedar rise tall around you, and ambergris adds a salty breeze. It is dry, woody and quietly powerful. Beginners will appreciate its clean, uncluttered woods.
