Composition
Roadster Sport by Cartier is a woody aromatic fragrance for men launched in November 2009. It opens with bergamot, mandarin orange and African orange flower, leading into an aromatic heart of rosemary and sage. The base is warm and woody with patchouli, guaiac wood and pepper. It was available as 30, 50 and 100 ml eau de toilette.
To me this smells like a morning drive down the Yamuna Expressway with the windows down — bergamot and mandarin tearing past like white lane markings, rosemary and sage from the dhabas' herb pots blurring green at the edges. Clean, fast, and a little reckless. Underneath, the patchouli and guaiac wood give it a warm, polished-wood depth, and the pepper keeps the whole thing awake — no sleepy citrus cologne, this. It settles into something crisp and woody, like a freshly ironed shirt with the top button undone. This is Cartier doing what it does best: making speed feel elegant. Beginner-friendly.
