No. 1 opens with Cardamom, Nutmeg, and Lime, settles into Iris, Ylang-Ylang, and Jasmine, and dries down to Sandalwood, Amber, and Musk. The overall character is woody and powdery.
No. 1 is Clive Christian masterpiece, built from 222 rare ingredients around fifty year old aged sandalwood. Pimento, lime, bergamot, Sicilian mandarin, pink grapefruit, cardamom, nutmeg and artemisia open in a hesperidic spice burst, iris, ylang ylang, jasmine, lily of the valley, heliotrope and rose form the floral heart, and sandalwood, vetiver, tonka bean, amber, Madagascan vanilla and musk finish silky and warm. The perfume that gave the house its name to live up to.
