Mysterious Oud (2018) is an all-natural extrait built around the core of authentic agarwood with an intense, playful fruity character. Orange, bergamot, cardamom and amber open it; castoreum, rose, jasmine, myrrh and warm spices form the heart; Indian oud, opoponax, tolu balsam, sandalwood, labdanum, lotus and vanilla ground the base.
Scent story
Mysterious Oud opens where most perfumes end -- amber first -- then unfolds castoreum leather, tart rose and jasmine over a woody-resinous oud base with a caramel-black-tea character. Complex, tannic, sophisticated; airier than the dense Oud Maximus. Beginners: still advanced -- leathery and animalic -- but the citrus opening makes it the friendliest Bortnikoff oud.
