Composition
Lyric Womanby Amouageis a Amber Floral fragrance for women.Lyric Womanwas launched in 2008. The nose behind this fragrance is Daniel Maurel. Top notes are Cardamom, Cinnamon, Ginger and Bergamot; middle notes are Rose, Geranium, Ylang-Ylang, Orris Root, Angelica and Jasmine; base notes are Incense, Sandalwood, Woodsy Notes, Musk, Patchouli, Tonka Bean, Oakmoss, Vanilla and Vetiver.
To me this smells like Khari Baoli spice market opening directly onto a rose garden — which is impossible, and which is exactly why it works. Cardamom, cinnamon, and ginger hit like the market at full roar, and then you turn a corner and there are roses everywhere, damask and rich, softened with ylang and orris powder. The incense and sandalwood underneath keep the whole thing smoldering for hours, like the market never quite closes. It is the rare spicy rose that feels both fierce and tender. Easy to love, even for beginners.
